BioI'm Amie. I'm 28 years old and I moved to the East Coast almost two years ago. I live in the suburbs, about 25 mins from Philly in South Jersey. I was born and raised in Iowa, so the east coast is a HUGE change. Talk about culture shock! I graduated college with a degree in Psychology but have worked in the finance field for the past 5+ years. I currently work for one of the largest pharmaceutical distributors in the US, my job is the epitome of the movie "Office Space." I tend to talk about it A LOT, but I'm working on that.
I'm incredibly sarcastic and pessimistic. I'm a real "the glass is fuckin half empty" kinda girl. On the flip side - I love to laugh, smile, and enjoy life because it's way too short to be miserable. I lived in Iowa my whole life but never felt that I quite fit in, I like to explore things outside of the box and my comfort-zone! However, I'm Midwestern all the way when it comes to my accent and the genuine niceness that Midwesterners are known for! I LOVE to travel and wish I could do it more often, despite the horrible luck I have when it comes to flying. One of my favorite cities, is NYC (of course) and I try to get up there as often as possible.
I'm finally realizing the importance of family and can say that I have the best relationship with my parents now than I ever have before. It's unfortunate that it took me moving 1000 miles away for all of us to finally get along. I live with my boyfriend and our 3 cats (yes, 3) and they are total attention whores but I love them all to pieces.
My journal is Friends Only, but that's because I talk about work and other schtuff that is semi-private. I don't put my life out there for everyone to read, judge, or spy on. However, that doesn't mean I'm not looking for new friends. I am interested in making new friends/meeting new people in the South Jersey/Philly area. Seriously, how do people make friends after college if all your co-workers are bitchy old women and back-stabbing soccer Mom's?
I'm horribly complicated. I tend to tell long stories with LOTS of detail, readers beware!
